Hi,
in some sites like yahoo when you resize the browser (drag borders of window) items in page don't move.
i.e. if a textbox is in right and you drag the right side of window to left, the textbox hide, and don't move.
but in my site when resize the items move, how can do that?

Specifying a width for elements such as tables, divs, etc, prevents them from resizing.

Please could someone recommend some good, advanced, Javascript tutorials. It's an area I had been happily ignorant of for many years, but now applies more and more to my current work. At the moment I rely on copy and pasting code from our resident expert, but this week he has not been here, and while I manage, I'd like to manage better.

Tutorials, especially the W3C ones, are great and contain a lot of information but there is nothing like a really good foundation in JavaScript to be able to solve complex problems.
I highly recommend this book for a comprehensive coverage of JavaScript.

I am working in c#.net 2005 (web application) . I am having textbox in my web page . if i press "c" in that text box ,it should give the name starting from "c " wihout submit button . for that i need to fire the key_down event . how to call that key_down event
and one more question
I deployed my web application in server . but in that virtual directory folder i am having all aspx.cs files .
but one of my friend told dont put .cs files in server (for security). he told while build the solution all .cs are converted into dll files and it will be there in inside debug or release folder . after that put that dll files into bin folder in server . but when i build the solution i didnt got that dll files . how to do that one .

You are using Server Control or HTML Control?
If server control is used add "onmousedown" attribute with the appropriate javascript function to it as below in the page load
<controlid>.Attributes.Add("onmousedown","javascript function");
In HTML control u can add this attribute at HTML code part itself

Hi,
I have found that inside VS2005 you can see the XSD which are the rules for what and how you can insert contents in say a HTML4.01 document.
I would love to extend it so that I can have intellisence on various of other tags which I use for the CMS System I use (www.Dynamicweb.dk). It is no problem to add new tags like "<mytag>", but the tags I need looks like this: "".
Can anyone help? You may find the XSD's in Visual Studio here:

Hi all,
I am trying to access the asp:panel Id inside the javascript like this
document.all("panel2") and it works fine in IE browser.
But with firefox this is errors out.
I tried
var panelvar= document.all("panel2")||document.getelementbyid("panel2) it failed
Any suggesionts please......

Don't write special code for IE. Just use the standard compliant code, that works just fine in IE too:

Thanks for taking ur time to reply. Since panel is a asp control, IE used document.all to retreive the id. Crazy syntax. This has been done to differentiate between asp control and html control

That doesn't really make any sense. It doesn't matter how the html code is generated on the server, in the browser it's all html elements. You can't access the panel in the browser, as there is no panel in the page. What you access is the div element that the panel has rendered in the html code.
There is no panel.

Hi,
Our web application has a feature that allows users to create their print templates (include header/footer and font settings) and print their documents with the templates. The users also are provided ability to save the document after applied Print template as HTML document instead printing to Papers. Since the print templates define Header/Footer need to be displayed in the HTML document when Print & Print Preview, we need to implement an Active X control to resolve some following things:
- Ability to override IE's header/footer by users' header/footer when the users click Print or Print Preview in IE
- Ability to override IE's page size & margins by users' papge size & margins when the users click Print or Print Preview in IE
Please let me know the Active X control can resolve the 2 requirements above and work with HTML page? And are there any disadvatages or limitation of it? If you know any related topic, please help forward to me.
I'm also looking for a third-party that can resolve those requirements. Let me know if you know any.
