And Do you know how many hours are spent a day to write a book ?
If you knew the answer to this you will not try to steal anything from the authors pocket. you will be happy if somoone take money out of your bank account ?
its like that.
Downloading e-book is stealing.
Few companies that installed computers to reduce the employment of clerks have realized their expectations.... They now need more and more expensive clerks even though they call them "Developers" or "Programmers."
hello every body
I M a BS (computer science)student i have finished my final project that is socket prgramming s/w (NetMeeting) .I need help for the preparation of project documentation .please anybody help me and give some related sample.
i have finished my final project that is socket prgramming s/w (NetMeeting)
How do you finish the project without finishing the documentation? ..... In our college first you should finish the documentation then you will move to the code ......
By the way I am also going to finish my final project in the midlle of next year. I also wanted to do my final project on Scoket Programming s/w(NetMeeting) as same as yours. So please can you also help me how to prepare for that.
Hey peoples I just have 1 laptop(running Windows Vista) and 1 desktop Dell PC(running windows xp)...... I just networked them using TCP/IP connection(cat-5 cable) and I can share data...... I can connect them remotely also .......... I have also a dial-up connection in both computers that I set up. But I want to share Internet between them(i.e while I dial-up one of the computers I want to get connected also on the other computer) ......... that saves me a lot of money and work........... Please any body has the idea ..help me.
I think what you said may work for High Speed Internet Connections and LANs .... But I use dial-up connection which is 56kb/s @ maximum ......... But you know what dude ..... I got it connected .... just by trial and error for many days .......... and 1 thing I learned from this is just if u have the ego and patience you can do any thing .....
I have an issue where the majority of our applications that we have built are ms access 2003 based applications however several of the applications have went thru MS Office 2007. When this happened the MODI active x control changed from version 11 to version 12. Now the applications all crash on machines where ms office 2007 is not installed on. Is there any way of installing the active x component with the application on the 2003 machines with out reinstalling ms office 2007?

are you going thru any proxies?
-Your only as fast as your proxie...
Does the computer use wireless or vpn?
-Your only as fast as your connection...
Also are you going thru a windows server domain environment?
-You could have a routing protocol messed up.
You might want to reset you winsock and arp cache.
We have a product (developed on .net) and we need to allow data exchange between our product and SAP.
I have googled and discovered that SAP-PI (old 'SAP-XI') is the one (I guess) reponsible for exchanging data to/from SAP.
If this is true, Does it communicates with external webservices? I mean, can SAP-PI access my product´s webservices and push and pull data from my webservice?
If so, Is there any special webservice requirements required by SAP-PI in order to allow SAP-PI access my webservice? Can I create this webservice using WCF?
How to "Map" my webservice to SAP?
Is that possible to develop some kind of "adapter" of my webservice to allow SAP to easily access my webservice, without the need to mapping SAP to my webservice everytime we need to install/implement our product on a customer site? If so, how to do that?
Hello, I figured this was the best place to put this since it's not language specific (in fact it's about choosing a language so I couldn't put it in the General Programming section).
I'm about to start a project for a small company that publishes a kind of Top 500 Companies yearly magazine in my country. They want to try putting this data in a CD instead and sell it to a small-ish group of customers (500-1000 customers tops I assume). I'm experienced in several languages including Java, .NET (VB, C#), C/C++, some Flash, etc. I need to decide what platform I'm going to use according to these criteria:
1) Minimize setup (this one would probably rule out .NET with its big... .NET libraries that I just can't assume the users have by default) - the idea is that, barring a couple registry changes and maybe a desktop icon, no dependencies need to be installed.
2) Minimize programming time (so doing it in pure C/C++ for Windows would be a big hassle, unless there's some really cool framework I could use. Something easy like Windows Forms would be nice).
3) Free or Open-Source libraries if possible (this is a small project, with a really small profit margin).
4) Some degree of protection for the database (I'm thinking SQLite, with encryption at the column-level). This is just to avoid people double-clicking the database and opening it in Access or Excel or notepad or whatever.
The application should mostly display a grid, allow some sort of drill-down (500 records for 500 companies, each with a small number of contacts). Perhaps have an intro of some sort, a splash screen, a menu, whatever. But mostly it's just a data browser with a read-only database, with the ability to sort and/or filter half a dozen columns, export to Excel or equivalent.
Anyway... all I'm asking is for anyone experienced in this kind of work, which development language could be ideal for this. Like I said, unless there's some sort of fully functional stand-alone library that can be included in the disc without needing for install, .NET (and maybe Java?) are unlikely, and pure C would be a really error-prone and take too long (if everything else fails I'm going to have to use anyway).
We are a software vendor that produces a small/lite Win32 client-server database application. Developed in PowerBuilder. Uses SQL Server as a database. Not sure if this is the proper forum for this, but...
Our customers usually host the application and database on their own, but recently we got customers where we are hosting the database and application for them. We’re using a hosting provider that provides us the ability to host the database and application. We then deploy the application using Terminal Services technology on the server to the customers that need to access it.
Now that we want to grow it, we realize we need to do additional things. Mostly, in regards to having multiple customers on the same TS box/domain. But we don't want to have to learn or deal with the work of doing this, we'd rather hire someone to do it. I know I can web-search for companies that can do this, but I'm hoping for any recommendations?
What I'm looking for the person to do:
Go into the box i'm currently paying to be hosted and setup the following:
1) a domain
2) properly publish my win32 app as a T/S published application (usinge REmoteApp, etc)
3) Lock down security on the server so users can't access the C drive, etc (only their temp and "my documents" folder)
4) Properly help me setup the users/licenses for T/S
5) Properly make it so the printers are detected on the T/S session.
6) Lock down security so users can't access the desktop, only my application.
And any other best practices for what I'm trying to do.
Yes I have noticed that too, with a folder containing some 3000 folders on XP32.
My advice is to not explore a remote folder with lots of content; part of a solution is to move the large number of files down one folder level (so the map network drive that opens explorer on it hasn't much to show,l just one folder), AND to make sure you don't ever need the list of the large content in say an OpenFileDialog.

Are there any Version Control Systems out there that will monitor a a
directory and when it detects a change to a file check it in
automatically for you, or are there any programs that will do
something simliar to this? I have a request that when files are
copied over to a directory whether they're new or being replaced their
updates are checked into some Source Control environment.
