I have defined a custom action for a library to ask for the approver's Name, Title and email-id for a document. This data entered should be taken programmatically to create a digital signature and add this signature inside the document. After this the document should be disabled from editing once signed(just like inserting a signature for a word document, but should be done programmatically). Can somebody post full working code for a sharepoint Visual studio 2010 project for this?
I have googled for the code but none are aiming at my request.
i am facing a issue. I have WSS configured on my machine. I am trying to create a new application from the central admin but the header, Menu and footer of the new application is of some Application XYZ. It seems that when i created the XYZ app, the default WSS header, menu and footer is replaced by its XYZ's custom header, menu and footer. Now whenever i create a new application, the header, menu and footer is not the one sharepoint default but of XYZ app.
First, don't ask for urgent help, it rude. This is a volunteer site and people will answer you on their time, not yours.
Try using the correct terminology. The header, menu and footer you describe are located in a master page. Are you creating a new Web Application and Site Collection or just a new site in an existing Site Collection? What site template are you using? What master page are you using?
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.
I have a webapplication and i have created a sitecollection with personalised url
When creating the application i have given port no as 90. After that i created wildcard sitecollection with url sites/xyz
In iis, i can see the sharepoint site with port 90. But when i browse, it says page cannot be found. I want to redirect to sites/xyz in iis. How do i do that.
I am using windows server 2003 ans wss3.0 and IIS6.0
created wildcard sitecollection with url sites/xyz
No, what you have created was a managed path with Wildcard inclusion and have created a SiteCollection on that managed path. It helps to use the correct terminology when describing a problem.
Just by creating a managed path does nothing to route requests through IIS. If you have designated a different port for this web application then you need to use host headers and configure IIS to redirect requests for this URL to that port. If you are using SiteCollection host headers then it will not work with managed paths.
I want to wrap column headings for the Data View Web Part. For example I want the "On Hand To Be Allocated" to display as:
To Be Allocated"
I have been trying to do this for a while. I would really appreciate your help.
These are parts of my dvwp code that I think may be relavant. I would appreciate if you or anyone else can help. (Though I have tried a few things, I have pasted the original code):
font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif;
and</th><thclass="style2"nowrap="nowrap"><xsl:call-templatename="dvt.headerfield"ddwrt:atomic="1"xmlns:ddwrt="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebParts/v2/DataView/runtime"><xsl:with-paramname="fieldname">@ows_On_x0020_Hand_x0020_To_x0020_Be_</xsl:with-param><xsl:with-paramname="fieldtitle">On Hand To Be Allocated</xsl:with-param><xsl:with-paramname="displayname">On Hand To Be Allocated</xsl:with-param><xsl:with-paramname="sortable">1</xsl:with-param><xsl:with-paramname="fieldtype">Text</xsl:with-param></xsl:call-template></th>and<tdclass="style3"style="height: 50px; "><xsl:value-ofselect="format-number(@ows_On_x0020_Hand_x0020_To_x0020_Be_, "#,##0.;-#,##0.")"/></td>
If you "very limited knowledge about code" then you have no business attempting this. Go learn about XSLT and HTML first. Seriously, nothing I could say would make sense to you until you have a basic level of knowledge.
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.

Looks like you are attempting to send the same workflow from two different events. I can definately see in the first bold segment that an update notification fired the workflow that was complete with GUID. Second attempt to fire workflow had some of the arguments needed but could not get the GUID and crashed. Third looks like a simple timeout where the data missing was handled cleanly and the workflow engine just timed out w/o a crash. Check carefully what all is trying to call the same workflow because there is a definate tug of war here.
I don't know if this is the board this should go on or C# board.
I have created a large InfoPath form for a client. I have reached my limit on promoting fields to a sharepoint list. Is there any way I can promote fields to a different sharepoint list or promote fields to multiple sharepoint lists?
Maybe, by changing the GUID number in the xsn file and point it to a different list?
It has been a while but yes you can accomplish this. I have done a codeless InfoPath form when submitted it will actually send data to multiple lists. I beleive you have to connect to the lists within the info path form first. Then drop all the lists onto the InfoPath form. Now you should have all the fields from all the lists showing on the InfoPath form. Thats the easy steps. Next you have to open the XSLT for the InfoPath form and manually move the fields that you want from one list area to another list area. I think that is how I did it. I am not 100% sure.
I think I also experimented with dropping a list on an InfoPath form and then hiding it. Next you can drop a text box on the form that when a user hits submit, it can copy the context of the box into the field (which is hidden) for a specific list.
Again sorry about such a generic solution. I hope this gives you some ideas on what you might look into for solving your problem.
Thank you! That gets my juices flowing for some different options for me to try!
I may respond more at a later time, I won't be working on this until next week as I am traveling in the short period. But I did want to respond to you.
I have searched many places and could not find a solution to my problem.
I created a Linked Source to connect and create a view for multiple lists. I then created a page displaying my data view web part. Perfectly good up to think point.
Then I tried to group my data view web part by date and added a header and footer for the group. The data is now showing in groups, the issue is that the group footers display the wrong count (with exception of the last group which shows the correct count). I also added a footer for the web part and the count is also correct for the Total data set/web part.
I don't understand why the group count for all the groups is zero (with exception to the last group from the bottom).
You would probably be better off talking to a Microsoft representative because there are different licenses for SharePoint 2010, SQL Server 2008, etc. The representative should assist you with this information.
I meant that, SQL Server 2008 Native client will we available as prerequests, this you need to install it before install SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server will use this SQL instance while configuration. so no need to purchase SQL Server 2008 / R2 as a separate components unless if you need it separately for custom table creation for your application.
