Are ones who will not admit their mistake in front of people younger than them. This is very retarded I feel since the same sort will pass on to the younger ones who look on and they adapt to it when they get older. Don't you think regardless of age we should admit mistakes and really set an example in the next generation?
I think not. I have seen seniors (by age or position) admit their mistakes and apologise when I was at Munich, but I must say, it's not that common here. Still I have had some seniors who admit their mistakes here too.
We are different in positions and united as a race. Putting your effort in trying to admit your mistake is what is required. Apologizing comes later if required. Admitting is the part where we are yet to improve.
I always do my best to admit my mistake. That sets an example for myself and reminds me that I'm myself!
Most of the times I do, still somethings are taken for granted, like if you drop the cup of coffee and office boy cleans it. May be a sorry or thank you would be good in the response, but I do it few times only.

Take chances, make mistakes, learn, laugh, love, live, succeed, prosper, and most importantly persevere. For every man dies but not every man truly lives...

Actually admitting a mistake is probably a superb start for a solution than just bottling it up. Admitting it means you have a sense of responsibility in your actions and that shows you are more matured than almost anyone.
Take the case of my Father. I have rarely seen him admitting his mistakes to us.
And this has never bothered me as I understand his ego (or what ever). And coming to my case, may be I will accept 90% of my mistakes with my wife and resist the rest (even though I know I am wrong ). Few things we should accept with the close ones.
Coming to the outsiders : few of my superiors do the same, but many more graciously accept - and we like them more.
I feel nothing retarded, and the younger generation are more matured to, not to draw any thing serious out of this. I feel they learned to take it as silly issue
Agreed. The only thing I say is we were kids before even if we are older by 10, 20, 50 years. We have gained experience but we shouldn't imagine that if we are older we have a automatic thingy which allows us to escape if we make mistakes.
It's not about following it strictly, but we should try as much as we can. We can't go to our office by walking to save the crude, but atleast stop ignition at red signals. May be a bad example, but I think you understand what I am saying.
Yes they are, but still you want to set an example so that they follow. I have seen my German heads saying thank you or sorry to the office boy. Do you think some Indian senior person would do that? No, I guess, unless they are taught to from well begining.
