I have an idea to write a short 'thing' about my experience (as a beginner in most things - if not all!) of choosing a VCS. Only I can't work out what type of 'thing' it is, is it a tip or an article - it felt like a short blog item but I see that's for linking to external blogs rather than a CP hosted blog item.
I've created this article via the Wizard and added the tags but am struggling to find the right section, any chance you could have a quick look at it for me? I wanted to choose Application Lifecyle but can't, or at least there's no section of that category that fits...
It probably falls into the same class as my previous article, i.e. being more like a blog, but I don't have a blog...
Finally, wouldn't mind a mentor having a quick look over it if that's ok?
I posted this [[article]] a day back, after submission I can see all links for download being updated ie. "/Working" removed from the URL.
But as soon as link is updated, files are not available for download. I even lost the image uploaded.
Can somebody please suggest what to be done?
Name="Outputswitch" Category="Assembler Options" HelpUrl="http://www.nasm.us/doc/" DisplayName="Output Switch" Description="Select the type of output format required. Linking Should be disabled for ELF and Binary ,else error will popup">
<IntProperty Name="SectionAlignment" DisplayName="SectionAlignment" Description="The /ALIGN option specifies the alignment of each section within the linear address space of the program. basically the previous XML was for nasm.xml and you have replaced the code for nasm.targets which contained all the explanation. Its good no body yet shouted on me.
But could you please update that?
please replace this one http://schemas.microsoft.com/build/2009/properties" >
with the previous XML I had messaged [its just above the TABLE] and please recover the old replaced XML for the nasm.targets as it has got the articles heart.
Is this some sort of bug?? if you format the XML, the code after a bad tag/attribute(not blaming MS ) automatically gets stripped out of article !!!!!!!
I just updated my article and after submission the source code download would not work. Clicking the link would display a blank page. I opened the submission wizard again and there were two copies of my zip file. I deleted them both and hand deleted the HTML relating to the link. I added the file back, uploaded the file, and added the file to my article. Now in preview mode clicking the link displays a page that says No download file was specified. Will it be there after submission?
I removed both of the files, made my changes to the article, added the file back, clicked the insert link icon according to the FAQ and still when previewing I get "No download file was specified.". Here's the HTML of the link:
<ulclass="download"><li><ahref="CompleteReadOnlyComboBox.zip">Download source and test project</a></li></ul>

Not only do you steal your articles, you steal your answers as well. This one is stolen from Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Unleashed: Attrib: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=31Vfys04RjgC&pg=PA43&lpg=PA43&dq=%22The+ArrayList+functions+much+like+an+array,+with+a+few+extremely+powerful+exceptions%22&source=bl&ots=1mJEP3bf1D&sig=dJy8EpQJI-MVknP1dg_gzBBo6II&hl=en&sa=X&ei=ZT7HT-TSJuaA6QGGysWZDg&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false We have found you out. You are a thief of other people's intellectual property.
he post the comment for me how dare to he say me like thief?. who give him right to write like this. is code project is Pete O'Hanlon's private property.
You may want to complain about me here[^]. And, as I said there, this was someone else's work - you stole their work and attempted to pass it off as your own. It's called copyright theft.
is code project is Pete O'Hanlon's private property.
No, but I take that "Site protector" icon by my name very, very seriously, and I don't take kindly to anyone who could cause legal trouble for Code Project. I hate to say it bubba, but I don't think you're going to get much sympathy.

i am sorry. i have not read the cpol carefully my mistake forgive me. it's not my intension. but today i have already posted another articale which was stolen from same book next chapter. in excitment of artical post on site. please don't post this articale.
Ok, as long as you've learned the lesson, there's no hard feelings. Take the time to come up with your own articles - it's a whole lot more rewarding. You get a much better feeling when people praise you for your ideas than for someone else's.

thanks a lot sir. i will never do again i promise. but don't post my articale which i have posted today in mornning. i promise you that i will write my own orignal articale which will usefull to others.
This has come up a few times after I look at an Article and tell the OP it would be better as a Tip, and I don't know how to answer.
Is there an easy way to convert an Article to a Tip and vice versa before it is approved? Or do they have to copy and paste?

When I upload it and the article is published (Bird, a New Optimal Language[^]), there are two file with the same name, and it writes that it has been replaced by another file, and can't download it. I tried to delete it, but doesn't worked. Is there a way to make it work? I used an external link for the last 3 previous versions.
I removed the link to the external file and clicked the "insert download links" button at the top of the downloads list in the editor and the link to your download was added nicely. I'll get Elina to see why the old copy of the download is still sitting there.
I fixed the link to the newest source on your latest version
(Bird, a New Optimal Language [^].
I did that by fixing the link in HTML mode.
It seems, that we have a bug in the way we insert links.
Looking into it now.
BTW, I left your article in composing status. If you want to publish it, simply uncheck the "work in progress" checkbox on article edit page.
Or, if you wish, I can change the status for you.
Two files should not be a problem, but because of the bug (fixing it now) old version of your download appeared.
I fixed it now and you article is now published.
Please, take a look and let me know if everything is fine.
If not, we will be happy to fix it.
I made an update again, but the old version was downloaded and pictures wasn't shown (it worked in the preview mode, "anonymuslang\" was removed from links automatically as I see), so I made an update again and reuploaded the file, but now it doesn't download and I also couldn't fix the picture problem.
Thank you in advance for helping me.
