You never make any sense.

Your inability to understand does not lead to the conclusion that my posts are nonsensical.

No, they are quite smart. The woimen will be far too busy with their catfights and leave the good man alone most of the time.

Freaky Swedish trolls, look a bit like hippos?
[Edit] well two people really didn't like the Moomins. They were one of my favourite programs as a kid. Admitting that'll probably get me unibombed now but I don't care; the Moomins were cool.

Mormons? I thought you said you wanted politics. Mormonism is a religious way of life. I thought we wanted to keep church and state separate?

I do, but do you? Do Mormons?

Absolutely. To both questions.

Nonsense. Mormons go to great lengths to impose their beliefs over others via the political procless.

Quote: impose their beliefs over others via the political procless. Everybody does that. Come one, are you serious? It's not even close to the same thing.
Who are you going to vote for in the next election? Whoever it is it will be because of your beliefs. Would you vote for gay marriage? Depends on your beliefs. To say that someone voting for something because of their beliefs is a mixture of church and state is just ludicrous.
We all use the political process to further our own beliefs. That has nothing to do with religion.

Everyone doesn't do that.
And you made an unqualified statement which was wrong and to which I responded.

Belief != religion.
I believe the Sun will rise tomorrow but I do not worship it.
ryanb31 wrote: We all use the political process to further our own beliefs. That has nothing to do with religion.
The LDS church as expressed through their religions belief has taken position on political issues.
The key word in separation of church and state is "church" not belief.

Quote: Belief != religion. Correct. I never said it did. Again, what's your point?
Quote: I believe the Sun will rise tomorrow but I do not worship it. We finally have something in common.
Quote: The LDS church as expressed through their religions belief has taken position on political issues. I assume you are referring to the definition of marriage? That is the only thing I can think of that you are referring to. And no, marriage is not a political issue. Just because it appears on a ballot does not mean it is solely a political issue.
Separation of church and state does not even mean what you think. It means the state shall not establish a religion. Read what it actually says.

You specifically did so when you stated "Whoever it is it will be because of your beliefs."
ryanb31 wrote: And no, marriage is not a political issue.
Utter nonsense. Nothing more than attempt to relabel something to evade the point.
ryanb31 wrote: ust because it appears on a ballot does not mean it is solely a political issue.
Yes by definition that it exactly what it means.
ryanb31 wrote: Separation of church and state does not even mean what you think. It means the state shall not establish a religion. Read what it actually says.
I suggest that YOU read what I said. Take a few moments to re-read my posts. You are making statements that had nothing to do with what I said.

I was thinking the same thing but then recalled that MR.Money (oops did I typo that ) is a Mormon.

So, because he is a Mormon we can't have separate of church and state? That's silly.

Its an implication of his topic. If you can't read that I can't help you.
For example, if someone that is in the headlines (lets say John Doe) is being charged with fraud but it is well known that they go scuba diving on the weekend.
Then someone says "lets talk about fraud.... Whats the deal with scuba diving anyways?"
I never said they can not be seperate. I am just reading between the lines. Apparently you were unable to do that.
