Two matches were scheduled to be played today. It was rain interrupted day and both the matches were short of full 40 overs.
Match #7: Sri Lanka v South Africa
There was rain, rain and heavy rain. Lucky enough, there was a match but of 7 overs a side. When we have 7 overs and 10 wickets, it's word 'go' from ball one. Jayawardena was lucky to win the toss and he put South Africa into bat first. In such a short game, it's really difficult to plan a target and SL tried to capitalize on it.
South Africa: 78/4 (7 overs)
Sri Lanka: 46/5 (7 overs)
MOM: AB de Villiers (for his 30(13))
For 7 overs a side, there was not much for bowlers in it. Even a wicket would not make much of a difference in shots or runs. ABD did make some difference with a quick fire 30. Even though few wickets fell, SA were able to post a decent total on the board.
SL had a bad start with Dilshan returning back to pavilion without even facing a ball. Morkel & Steyn were firing all cylinders. Match was almost over around half the SL innings. SA bowlers did well and won the match. SA lead the group C with SL following into second position. Both the teams move into Super 8's.
Match #8: Australia v West Indies
It was West Indies first match of the tournament and an important one to set the tone moving into the WC. They won the toss and decided to bat first. Most of the spectators think that current WI batting lineup is the best till now for T20.
West Indies: 191/8 (20 overs)
Australia: 100/1 (9.1 overs)
MOM: Shane Watson (for his 41(24) & 4-0-29-2)
Australian bowlers started good. Gayle took some time to get his eye into, but once he was settled, it was a Gayle storm. Watson finally succeeded in stopping the storm in his second attempt. Samuel continued the party and scored a quick fire 2nd fifty of the game (Gayle was first.). Every other player pitched in a little and even though wickets fell, WI were able to post 191 on the board.
Australia had a good start with Warner and Watson scoring at good rate. Warner got out after giving Australia a flier. Hussy and Watson continued the chase and stroke the ball all around until rain stopped the play. Heavy rain put an early end to the match - Australia won it by 17 runs (using D/L). Australia has played both their league games now and they advance into Super 8's as Group B leaders.
Finally, the current standing of the member participants in CPFL T20WC12. PompeBhai trying all his combinations to be back at top position but has a new threat! Short 7 over game did had an impact on FL today. Ankur continues to impress, leaped to #3. Abhinav, where are you?
We have two matches tomorrow: Match #9: New Zealand v Pakistan - It's a day night match and will start at 1400 GMT. It will be Pakistan's first match and New Zealand's second. Match #10: England v India - It's a day night match and will start at 1400 GMT. It's the second game for both the teams and awaited one.
It seems I selected wrong Bravo... I could have been at the secomd place for sure. I did the changes using mobile while I was travelling (mumbai-silvassa) and couldn't get Gayle and remove Aussie player who isn't playing. It's difficult to mange teams when there are 2 matches in a day. Nevertheless things have been positive for me and I should appreciate that.
Where have you been man! You missed the bus. I even counted you officially in
the group competing.
Yeah was hell busy with lots of travelling. Also I have some problem in accessing net from home. Initially laptop had the problem and once that is corrected having issue with the provider. Anyway watching the tussle in CPFL from outside is also having lots of fun. Will surely be there for the next CPFL.

Yeah, last 3-4 games have been quite rank changers.
Yeah things gets upside down sometimes in one or two matches.
Yeah, good to see GIT again in thick of actions after some silence.
Yeah. As for me, I cannot participate much with those jokes and quotes that these days keep getting posted! I am sure, it would be something similar other way round and those 'quote' loving people would hate out Cricket threads and talks.
Gayle is gayle but now 6 hitting spree is not confined. We are going to get few more Gayle's after this tournament.
BTW in the ongoing match also its a six hitting competetion. Naseer is quickly becoming a lethal player.
