So I made a small powerpoint presentation with a few pictures and a music ( actually it was not me, but I'll cut the story short). In office 2003, inserting an audio object is the simplest thing ever, you can adjust the volume with a slider, settings are available via contact menu by clicking on the small "sound" icon that is inserted in the presentation.

Now the presentation has to run on a laptop with office 2010.
First, the 2003 ppt file is not compatible: some of the music does not play when I run it.

Fine enough, I delete the old inserted sound and replace it with a new sound object. It does not run: OK, 2010 is not able to play mp3 on more than one slide. OK, I convert my mp3 into wav and retry. Works. Good. At full volume. Bad. So I double click on the sound icon to get to the settings in the freaking ribbon. No volume. No audio settings. Context menu ? It opens the menu for resizing the icon. WTF ? The icon is only a placeholder !

After some googling, I find out that a special menu opens in the freaking ribbon for Audio settings. Great. Change the volume ? No slider anymore. Just "High", "Middle" or "Low". WTF ? Are people now too dumb to use a slider ? And what if I want to set the volume between "Low" and "Middle" ???

It went on with a zillion other things like that until I finally used another program to show the presentation.

I f***ing hate this f***ing ribbon. I hate this Fisher Price 2010 UI.
And above all, I hate the microsoft designers who want everything to be usable by the mass by "simplifying" up to a level where it is close to useless.
