Hold your horses you haven't beat us 4-0 yet! I think the 4-0 in England wouldn't happen if you played us now(in England), at the time so many of our Batsmen were in form that we were always going to score heavily, since then a lot of the players have lost form, Strauss has gone and also Morgan, the top 7 is nowhere near as strong. Also losing Khan early did for you, it would be the equivalent of us losing Swann for this series.
I take your point though about the teams being suited to different wickets, but our poorness on turning wickets is a lot worse than your poorness on green wickets. This will probably be proven by you getting an Innings defeat in the first match. It took us till the 3rd Test to dent your confidence enough to achieve that.
This is the first time I've seen him I think, in a Test match definitely. Looks like he is a very accomplished player and with him and Kohli it looks like the future of Indian Cricket isn't as bleak as it looked it might be 12 months ago.
I think the last session is going to be crucial. England need two wickets at least in order to give themselves a chance. If these two are still there at close of play the game is over already for England.
I hope you're right, but England haven't performed since they met India last summer, and after the manner in which they capitulated to Pakistan earlier this year, I am really fearing for them facing Ashwin and the other one (oija?)
Ashwin is not as good as Swann or even Anil Kumble or even perhaps Harbajan (when in form), so I would not fear him honestly.
Unfortunately the Harbajan Singh of old is no more there else he could have been a handful - his turn and bounce can be a handful for any batsman.
He will surely score big in this series....if not this match.
When you say "surely", what do you base that on? Just hope? I ask because in his most recent games he has not shown the technical prowess that has been his primary skill all these years. So someone like Swann will always be a big threat to him.
I've been anticipating this series for awhile now and all I hope is we get a good well fought battle from both sides. Hopefully it will be close and can live up to and maybe even surpass the current SA v Aus series in terms of entertainment.
I too hope its a decent series (not a one-sided one like last time).
I do too, not least because if it is one-sided it won't be in favour of England this time. I have just been reading the latest article on ESPN and apparently since England last one a series 28 years ago we have only won one test on Indian soil.

I don't want to predict the series result this time though.
I know what you mean, I nearly went 2-1 England, but fear it is more likely to be 3-0 India.
