Overall, I am losing interest in cricket. Unlike my younger days
Yeah I think with age the interest decreases, I remember watching a test match non stop for all 5 days. When there was no television at home we use to go the only house in the locality to watch the match. Since T20 has started one day matches has lost the charm. The main interest left in the test matches only and with the current performance that too will not there in future.

A STUPID COMMON MAN FROM INDIA("ONE OUT OF AAM JANTA")
I saw someone post this on facebook so I thought I would share it. Its about a boy named Akrit Jaswal, at 7 years old he is the youngest person to get admitted in a medical university in India. Akrit Jaswal has an estimated IQ of 146. He is now 17 years old and working on a master's degree in applied chemistry. WOW! How amazing is that.
After the verdict from Norway court, I was angered by the response/arguement from so called "Indian friends and realtive".
Thay complained that Judge did not consider the "Indian cultural ethics". WTF.
1. One relative said that Judge did not understand Indian culture!! They dont deny that hot spoon was used for burning, but its normal by Indian standard .
2. Other said that Parents knows whats best for Kid and how to discipline them. It has been the norm in India for centuries!
3. Others remarked that words of 7 year kid should be ignored because he is too young
We Indians need to get down from the high horse.
Also they were not some un-educated parents.
Im so pissed at the defence of their actions. The only silver lining is that Indian Govt did not intervene
Too much of good is bad,mix some evil in it
True, I dont deny that. But you should know the laws of the land.
You should not blame the country's judge for not knowing Indian culture!!
Here evey month , my daughter's school (International school/multi cultural) send a newsletter to all the parents explianing the Do's and Dont's wrt to Child care.
Few months back we had some relatives visiting us and their kid was adamant that he will not wear seat belt.Their Parents said that "Its OK" because SB is not compulsary in India ( whic itself is false)and he is not used to it. But I cannot take the risk of driving whith a child unsecured in the car.
Too much of good is bad,mix some evil in it
SO much comes to my mind when I read the term "Indian culture". But burning a 7 year old with a hot spoon is definitely not one of them. Those relatives and other retards who are talking in support of the abusive parents should be given the hot spoon treatment too.
Well, Indian culture does endorse the idea of parents beating their kids. So technically it is right to say that it’s part of Indian culture, even if most of us know that it’s wrong. Of course, people define Indian culture in different ways, but what I am referring to here is how across centuries, physically abusing kids (beating, verbal abuse etc.) has always been a socially and culturally accepted practice across all Indian states.
Well, in some ways it is. Most western parents don't beat their kids and the ones that do barely spank them lightly (not much pain, but a psycological thing).
In India, it's still socially acceptable to beat kids, even ones that are nearly 12-13 years old. Just read the comments on any of those Indian website articles and you'd be surprised at how everyone is supporting child abuse.
And while this may shock you, there are many rural areas in India where kids are burned as punishment.
what's statistically been a major marital problem in India
I agree to it here. Its more pervalent in the subcontinent and is shameful. But it cannot be called as socially accepted. If I understand correctly socially accepted means you can boast about it socially, I don't think people here are boasting about beating wives even though they might be doing it.
Could be, but I rarely saw our batsmen alloed the spinners to dominate on first day. We scored too slow, didn't even tried to put pressure on bowlers. We were too defensive against Panesar in the morning. Anyway let us see how much build upon it now. We need atleast 350+ score to put some pressure.
Exactly what I was thinking. But the commentators thought opposite. I didn't saw the indian inning today but later when I saw they were mentioning that he played very well with the tail and sacrificed lot of runs (which is very unlike dhoni) in teams sake. When I saw the score card the story was different ojha faced 19 delivveries and zaheer also faced a lot. Then how he shielded them.
They must be paid guys to improve Mr.D's reputation.
When I saw the score card the story was different ojha faced 19 delivveries and zaheer also faced a lot. Then how he shielded them
That's just stats proving the fact how pathetic and selfish Mr. Dhoni is. He lets Zaheer take single on last ball of an over to let him face Anderson the next over from first ball.
He takes single of first ball to let Ishant feel the heat rest of the over...
which team was denied the spin practice in the warm-up games again
I think denying a spin friendly track backfired us. We thought Eng will not get the required spin practice, but what happened was they (Eng) beleived the track as the turning track and they tried hard to get the output. And when they get a real turner they became lethal.
Of course we just don't have guys like Azhar, Dravid, Sidhu, and Ganguly who
would have knocked spinners all over the park.
This is exactly is the reason. These guys were too good against spin and we had good home record in tests. Although I never agreed that we should build only the turners for the matches here. With this we never improve our records overseas.
