What’s new in this release?
Saaspose development team is happy to announce the new release of Saaspose.Words. This new release allows splitting MS Word documents into separate documents using Saaspose.Words REST API. Saaspose.Words is a REST base API that helps to create, manipulate and convert documents to other file formats in the cloud. While working with your documents, you may come across scenarios where you want to split the large documents into smaller ones. You can split the documents into separate documents within the MS Word document or different file formats. Splitting one large document into smaller documents of different file formats is an important aspect in document manipulation tasks. It involves a series of steps that need to be performed for getting the desired results. Saaspose.Words eliminates the need of such complicated tasks and makes it hassle free. You can split your MS Word documents using Saaspose.Words REST API in your applications. Whether the size of your document is small or large, Saaspsose.Words splits hundreds of pages of a document into different documents. You may choose the file format while splitting the document such as PDF, image, MS Word documents, etc. Using this feature-rich API in your applications, you can split all pages of the document into new documents and maintain their file names as well. You can also choose to split specific pages to new documents from a single document. The formatting information and content of the document is maintained during the split process and the new files have the same formatting and style. You can directly split the documents on your local system using Saaspose.Words REST API and SDKs without saving the file to Saaspose Storage. It is a single call process that uses split document controller resource; it uploads the files to server, appends the files to the document, sends the converted file back as response stream and deletes the source files from the server. Saaspose.Words allows you to split apart MS Word documents into multiple documents with different file formats. You can divide and save pages of your MS Word documents into separate file uploaded at Amazon S3 storage. You need to upload the input document at Amazon S3 storage and execute the feature in your web or mobile applications. Saaspose.Words is a platform independent REST API and can be used with different programming languages such as .NET, Java, PHP and Ruby. You can utilize our SDK and REST examples to split MS Word documents in the cloud

Stimulsoft Company, a major manufacturer of reporting tools, announces the release of version 2012.3 of Stimulsoft Reports and Stimulsoft Reports.Fx product lines. The new version offers new helpful opportunities, convenient use on mobile devices and optimization of many functions.
What's new in Stimulsoft Reports version 2012.3?
Software products for WinForms, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Silverlight, WPF, WinRT, HTML5 form the product line Stimulsoft Reports.
The company developers designed two new report viewers for using in ASP.NET MVC projects. The first one, MvcViewer, is released as a part of the reporting tool Stimulsoft Reports.Web for MVC. It is based on HTML and AJAX, without any use of third-party technologies. The component supports all popular Internet browsers and all the necessary functions, such as printing a report in HTML and PDF, exporting reports with the ability to display the settings dialog box, bookmarks, and parameters panel.
The second report viewer is named MvcMobileViewer and constitutes a part of the reporting tool Stimulsoft Reports.Mobile. It was created using the HTML5 technology and is optimized to run on mobile devices (tablets, smartphones). Supports both mouse control and touch interface. It works on all modern browsers that support the HTML5 technology. Full screen mode is supported: the viewer size automatically adjusts to the screen size of a mobile device.
A long-expected opportunity of collapsing text blocks in the Cross-Tab component is added to the release 2012.3. It is possible to collapse the rows and columns in the rendered Cross-Tab component in the report viewer. It makes the report more interactive, and its contents easier to use.

What's new in Stimulsoft Reports.Fx version 2012.3?
Reporting tools for Flex, PHP and Java are united into the product line Stimulsoft Reports.Fx.
The major changes have been made in the reporting tool Stimulsoft Reports.Fx for Java, since Stimulsoft developers completely redesigned it. Previously, the product was a Java component with the report engine written in Flex. Starting with version 2012.3 Stimulsoft Reports.Fx for Java can be considered a pure Java product, since the report rendering is processed on Java. The product also added a new report viewer, written entirely in this technology. Stimulsoft Reports.Fx for Java can safely be called a full-fledged server component.

MadCap was recognized in the Content Creation category for its native XML MadPak technical communications suite enabling single-source publishing to print, desktops, mobile and the Web
La Jolla, CA, USA – December 12, 2012 – MadCap Software, Inc. (http://www.madcapsoftware.com), the leader in multi-channel content authoring and a showcase company for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Visual Studio and Microsoft XPS, today announced that it has been named to the 2012-2013 EContent 100 list in the Content Creation category. The EContent 100 list is selected by a panel of eight judges and recognizes the 100 companies that matter most in the digital content industry. To view the full list, visit http://www.econtentmag.com/Articles/Editorial/Feature/The-Top-100-Companies-in-the-Digital-Content-Industry-The-2012-2013-EContent-100-86248.htm.
“The digital content industry is constantly in flux, but perhaps never more so than in 2012,” said EContent magazine’s editor, Theresa Cramer. “Submissions for this year's EContent 100 list were better than ever, and consequently our judges had their work cut out for them. This year’s list still has many of the old standbys, but there are plenty of fresh faces as well--many of which are shaking up the content industry.”
“From the start, we have focused on delivering a superior experience to our customers, who recognize the strategic value of letting readers choose the way they receive content, whether it’s in print, on the Web, on desktops, or on their mobile devices,” said Anthony Olivier, MadCap founder and CEO. We are thrilled to be named to the 2012-2013 EContent 100 list, which validates our continued commitment to delivering a comprehensive technical communications suite with single-source publishing to all the channels that users rely on for their information today.”
One Source for Reaching Users Across Multiple Channels
MadPak is the industry’s most comprehensive authoring suite, featuring integrated, XML-based products for complete end-to-end technical communications. The suite features MadCap Flare for single-source, multi-channel publishing; MadCap Contributor for editing, reviewing and contributing to Flare content; MadCap Analyzer for analyzing Flare-based content; MadCap Capture for image capture and graphics editing; MadCap Mimic for publishing software simulation movies, video and audio, and MadCap Lingo for facilitating and streamlining the translation process. MadPak is now the content publishing solution of choice for thousands of companies worldwide, who are reducing project time anywhere from 30% to more than 400% (http://www.madcapsoftware.com/products/flare/roi.aspx).
Unmatched integration through a native XML architecture enables an end-to-end content solution for publishing in print and on desktops, mobile devices, and the Web – in their language of choice. For example, authors can:
* Translate content in a Flare project using MadCap Lingo, without transferring files.
* Work within Analyzer to directly optimize content in a Flare project.
* Create linked variables in Flare, Mimic and Capture, so changes in Flare automatically occur in Mimic and Capture.
MadCap continues to lead the wave in single-source multi-channel publishing by addressing all the formats that businesses want to use today. With MadCap Flare, the same project can be published as WebHelp, HTML5 Help, interactive mobile Help, an eBook, PDF files, Word documents, and more. Easy creation of Quick Response (QR) codes with Flare means all of these formats can provide single-click access to the information users need. Additionally, team collaboration enabled by Microsoft SharePoint integration and version control through integration with both Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Apache SVN, is increasingly leading companies to bypass content management systems in favor of using MadPak.

New case study from MadCap Software examines how Ektron leverages single-source publishing, QR codes, HTML5 and mobile publishing in Flare, and content tuning with Analyzer
La Jolla, CA, USA – MadCap Software, Inc., the leader in multi-channel content authoring and a showcase company for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Visual Studio and Microsoft XPS, today announced that it has published a new case study on Ektron Inc. A leader in Web content management and Digital Experience management software, Ektron is using MadCap Flare to enrich the user’s experience with Quick Response (QR codes), pull-down menus, and content delivered in customers’ format of choice whether in print, on the Web or on mobile devices. Ektron also relies on MadCap Analyzer to review and improve the quality of its Flare-based content. The full Ektron case study is available at: http://www.madcapsoftware.com/casestudy/Ektron.aspx.
Ektron delivers one of the world’s premier platforms for creating, deploying and managing enterprise-scale, global, personalized websites. Some 3,700 customers and 12,000 public-facing websites use its software, and Gartner Inc. positioned Ektron in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2012 "Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management" report. Having built a strong brand around state-of-the-art software for the Web, Ektron relies on MadCap Flare and MadCap Analyzer to deliver best-in-class product Help and documentation in print, on the Web, and on mobile devices.
Using Flare and Analyzer to employ minimalism and eliminate redundancy, Ektron has cut its Web format output file count from 6,297 to 3,192 over the last couple of years, nearly a 50% reduction, as well as reduced its project file count by 26%, from 5,455 to 4,038. Other key benefits Ektron has realized include:
* Flare’s single-sourcing enables print, Web and mobile content to be published from the same project.
* Conditional text facilitates the ability to update content in line with new product releases.
* Topic-based content, drop-down menus, and QR codes facilitate user access to the information they need.
* Separation of style and content, along with flexible style capabilities enabled Ektron to align the look of its HTML5 and mobile Help skins with its corporate website.
* Responsive MadCap support helps keep projects on track and on time.
MadCap Users at Ektron Share Their Experiences

As a result, .NET developers can leverage their existing web development skills to produce powerful, 100-percent native mobile applications that work on a broad range of devices.
A recent survey by analyst firm IDC, sponsored by SAP/Appcelerator, found mobile application developers' biggest challenges included dealing with multiple operating systems, dealing with multiple device classes, learning many languages (such as Java and Objective-C), building acompelling user interface/user experience, managing many code bases, and integrating data sources. For enterprises with Microsoft-related assets, Orubase solves all of these challenges.
Using the Orubase Wizard, developers can effortlessly build starter projects. The Wizard creates a template with native navigation components for mobile web, iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms. Generated projects are ready to run and can be customized easily within the respective IDEs.
“Orubase saves .NET developers time and makes their job easier by solving many of the challenges associated with fragmentation. It provides an extensive set of mobile web controls that can be directly used in web applications to produce stunning platform-specific user interfaces,” said Daniel Jebaraj, vice president of Syncfusion.
Key features include:
· Truly native navigation—key navigation elements that control the user’s navigation experience are implemented with native code.
· Complete bridge to native application programming interfaces (APIs) on each of the supported device platforms—common native APIs such as contacts, notifications, accelerometer, and camera are readily supported and work seamlessly with applications.
· More than 18 well-tested mobile controls havebeen implemented and work exclusively with the standard Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework. Automatic platform-specific rendering enables mobile controls to automatically render iOS, Android and Windows Phone interfaces from a single view.
· Support for encryption—developers have access to advanced encryption support.
· Leverages the Microsoft data-access stack to integrate data from any source including Oracle, SQL Server, SQL Azure, SQLite, enterprise ERP systems, web services, and more. Use language-integrated query (LINQ) or any other API available from within the .NET environment to access data.
The web components and hybrid layer of Orubase are provided bySyncfusion. Orubase does not contain third-party tools or components, and isbacked by Syncfusion’s end-to-end technical support. Syncfusion recently used Orubase to build iOS and Android mobile applications for its online supportsystem, Direct-Trac, which are now available at Apple's App Store and Google PlayGoogle Play.
"Orubase enables us to deliver custom native apps within our DoctorDirect product line to our customers. We especially like how Orubase works with an MVC code base," said Dean Newton, Director of Business Development at NurseLineMD. "Syncfusion has an unparalleled track record when it comes to .NET development tools and their customer support team is a true partner when challenges present themselves."
