Imports from Sri Lanka seem to have done worst this year.
While players from the West Indies have performed best, Australia seem to have been ok.
South Africa are on par and there are hardly any participants from England and New Zealand.
On the whole though, players from Sri Lanka have been disappointing.
Jayawardane did ok in only one or two game.
Sangakarra has dropped himself.
Mathews has been very ordinary.
Dilshan is not even getting games to play.
Murali is, well, playing more of a mentor role.
Malinga is low on confidence or form , or both.
Perera has been the best of the lot, but still below par.
A less known Sanayake has perhaps been the only shining star - although one game is not enough to prove that.
Mendis, Kulusekara and others are not playing at all.
- Matthews was there for first two of his games
- Dilshan was there for first two of his games
- Senanayak was there for both the games he played so far and
- I regret not taking Parera in my team so far thinking he will not fire just this game!
None the less, no one can stare at the master like that.
Well, outside India he does not command the same level of respect Indian fans give him. Not surprising either. Also Malinga is young, so by the time he started playing internationals, Sachin was a pale shadow of the greatness that we saw during the 90s and early/mid 2000s. So that's a factor too.
