If that guy feels his customers have a problem with the term "Open Source" because of security, I'm not sure how the term "Community Software" will assuage their fears.
Maybe something like Observable Source Software.

I concur, and generally feel the attempt is misguided. Open Source Software is just starting to get recognised for what it is, the correct approach is to educate the uninformed, not to rebrand.
I prefer to explain the difference as akin to the difference between being open and closed minded.

I read that; the article makes it out to be the best thing that ever happened.. the reality though, is that the vast majority of these 'contractors', make very little money, are disposable labor with no benefits and no security. The model is being adopted as a means of circumventing labor laws and placing all of the control in the hands of the employer..

Absolutely right. Sad (and I have to admit I do like being a freelancer - sometimes), but it is definitely benefiting many company's bottom line.
