Hard to believe we've already had that many "Year of Linux". Time flies.

The ‘luxury effect’, in which wealthier neighbourhoods are more biologically diverse, has been observed for plants, birds, bats and lizards. Here, we used data from a survey of indoor arthropod diversity ... and found that ... mean neighbourhood income best predict the number of kinds of arthropods found indoors. Our finding, that homes in wealthier neighbourhoods host higher indoor arthropod diversity ..., shows that the luxury effect can extend to the indoor environment. The effect of mean neighbourhood income on indoor arthropod diversity was particularly strong for individual houses that lacked high surrounding vegetation ground cover ... Now we can be proud of our vast bug collections (if those bugs belong to different species, that is).

I read that thinking, what the heck does software bugs have to do with bats and lizards and arthropods, even though I'd actually heard this on NPR last week.
Then again, I still think bug diversity (meaning software bugs) is linked to income.
First, the higher paid I am, the more complex the project I usually work on, and therefore the more diverse the bugs.
Second, when I walk into a complex project to rescue it, it is already infested with a diverse number of bugs, so again I get paid the bigger bucks to deal with that diversity.
Problem is, I can't figure out whether I'm an environmentalist ("don't you dare spray insecticide on my program!") or an exterminator ("We'll start tracking bugs with BugZilla, prioritize them, cockroaches first, and start squashing!")

I think the nature of the experiment is to wait until both materials are theoretically at the same temperature. It makes me think someone is trying to prove Maxwell's Demons do exist. But many ore erudite people than I are commenting on phys.org.

Actually they did.
But the thing is, no one would be interested in buying their motives once we get our hands on Xamarin. Secondly, well, I'd leave this one out for you guys to determine.

Google has just announced plans to gradually phase out support for Chrome apps on every platform except for Chrome OS. Aaaah, panic! They're retiring Chrome? Oh wait, just Chrome apps? Whuzzat?
Chrome has apps? Learn something new every day, I guess.

Maybe winding down development of a product line before releasing their new OS perhaps......

Chrome app just contains Chrome extension so just go back to use Chrome to access it. Is it just me??

Their rational is it's not being used much and the web now fills in the gaps the chrome apps solved. So there's no need for them now. Makes sense to me.

I got burned by MySQL in the early days -- I don't remember specifically what, I think it had to do with not actually implementing foreign keys, or cascading deletes, or something or other pretty fundamental to good database architecture.
A more thorough set of problems nowadays (not that SQL Server or Oracle doesn't have its problems) is something @thewazz posted on a Slack forum I run. MySQL - Choose Something Else[^]
