Court ruling drips with angry language
In a ruling in which the judge describes Microsoft as "untrustworthy" and "not credible" Microsoft has been ordered to split its company into two. Of the two parts, one will be responsible for operating systems, and the other for all applications including Internet Explorer, MSN and Office.
Judge Jackson has stated for reasons for the breakup:
- Microsoft has never admitted that its business practices violate the Sherman Act
- With Micorosoft convinced of its own innocence, there is a strong possibility it will simply continue to break the law.
- Microsoft had lied in court, and hence it's credibility as a witness in court is zero
- Continuing the trial will not solve anything
