How to implement state management in windows 8 mobile phone app

I want to use session in my app so can we use it in windows 8 phone app? is there any another technique for that?. In my app i have one pivot control in one page and in that one button is there on click of that button i navigate on another page and want display data on basis of click of item of first pivot control so how do i get that i clicked on which item's button?
