Help with Sockets MFC VC++

I have to develop an application where upto 5 clients may be connected to a server,& the server will broadcast a messsage to all clients,I have an application working with TCP connection established ,The on site problem is that clients may boot up before server so how do i establish some autoconnect feature,for this i am trying with using another UDP socket however still not sure on the right mechanism
