Our company creates a TON of web-based excel reports for our clients. These reports range from simple data dump reports to extremely complex reports that cannot be achieved with something such as crystal reports.
We currently utilize some 3rd party reporting software called syncfusion, which is very similar to the "Microsoft Office Object Library" dll (but capable of running from a server). Syncfusion works well however we've had some issues with their company lately and my boss wants to look into other options.
So my question is, what would you recomend for web-based excel reports? Is SSRS w/sql server 2008 the solution? I've heard SSRS can't handle some basic tasks such as renaming excel tabs & using excel column filters. If so, this wouldn't work for us.
