Book recommendation for ASP.NET and C#

Hi people

I am Harpreet.
I have done asp.net but i not much familiar with the things I am seeing at codeproject like
chatting
authentication
site maps
ajax
so its a request refer me a ebook that will help me in learning asp.net
I am too depressed when I am making website i came across many things that i don't know and my teacher was so bad I spent 10,000 on that, but i wasted all my time.

MSDN is a big repository for all .NET stuffs. You can also refer it anytime you need.
