Hi,

I have converted a 2010 C# app to 2008 C# App by changing the solution file from Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 11.00 C# Visual Studio 2010 to Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 10.00 C# Visual Studio 2008.

A brief look over it doesn't seem to do anything odd, it just I can't test it fully.
Why do I think a world of pain happens when the user get his mits on it!?

Not sure what your question is... sounds more like this should be put as a 'Rant' in the CP Lounge forum ;P

Good, thank you for the link. Maybe the solution I saw before was upgraded or this is a new work, I'm not sure. My 5.

I don't know automatic converter for this, but I managed to do it manually. Make two identical project file samples with different version and thoroughly spot all differences. Make changes and text.

Do yourself and everyone a great favor: when you learn if, write an automatic converter and publish it as a CodeProject article. This code will be very welcome. I saw an old work doing that, but it was not completely correct and worked only with older versions.

Why it is important? People write articles, want the working with many versions used by the readers.

FYI, somebody on CP already wrote a converter. See my answer.

I used one of them recently; it failed to convert my fairly simply structured projects, so I had to tweak them manually. Which one do you mean?
Probably the one I did not try yet is http://www.codeproject.com/KB/macros/SolutionConverter.aspx

You need to ask?
Users are the bane of developers.

Things are always great until users get their grubby little protruberances on them.

However, you have not really asked anything, nor said why you felt you had to back convert.

Well, it was done using 2010's C# Express Edition, not sure of the legal aspects I converted it 2008 (with fingers crossed)
