ASP .net ajax controll

i am using form with validation control.on the same page there is a grid also when i want to edit record from grid my validation error shown on form but i am updating the grid rows only.can any body tell me why is it and if i use ajax control then will it be call because i think my page request goes to server and kindly tell me the solution.thanks in advance

set

CausesValidation="false"

for the edit button on the grid that will solve this problem . if further exist the put the code here please
