Hello everyone,

I am trying to connect to a remote machine OPC server:

Remote Machine:
Windows Vista Business
2007 copyright, Service Pack 2

Client Machine:
Windows XP professional
Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Error:
The Stub received Bad Data
Failed to get plug-in types. HRESULT: 800706F7

This is a known issue from Microsoft, but they claim they have fixed it in XP service pack 3, but i am still getting the error.

I am trying to install hot-fixes for Vista using the KBA's 975415 and 897662. but neither of the are installing saying you have a new service pack version already or this fix does not apply to your machine.

I know the issue is with SAFEARRAY BSTR, but was not able to solve it.

They say they have fixed it in VISTA SERVICE pack 3, mine is Service Pack 2 and i cannot find anyway to upgrade it to service pack 3 online. When i am installing service pack 3 hot-fix it says "The update does not apply to your system".

Can anyone help me? Does anybody know how to solve it.
