PIC controller RESET Circuit problem

In PIC16F877 there is a RESET circuit.. when the RESET switch is press why the Microcontroller remain in reset state for aroung 7.2ms??? i mean why it is necessay to provide this time delay to controller???

Typically all resets NEED to have some sort of debounce circuit. Otherwise you'll effectively end up with multiple resets since the electrical circuit will typically exceed then go below the trigger threshold.
