You can try:
1. librtf
2. rtflib
3. Qt Widget text editor has built in support for this.[^]

Solution 3

You have (at least) two options:

Use (as others suggested) an already-made library or a control.
Write your editor from scratch, i.e. implement yourself the RTF specification[^].
