I tried to create a new VB Windows Phone 7 Project I get the following error message:

Error: this template attempted to load component assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.SmartDevice.ProjectSystem.Base, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=Neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'

Any ideas how to resolve this issue ?

I Uninstalled Older silverlight versions and it got fixed

Solution 1

If you're trying ot do this on an Express edition of Visual Studio, it won't work.

If you're not using the Express edition, check to see if you have a SilverLight SDK installed older than 4.0 and remove it if you do.

Thanks alot for the post , no its not express edition , its Professional edition , Yes I have old Silver light version, I am going to remove them , I hope it will work , will definitely let you know. Thanks again

check this link it says that we can use even on Express Version (although I am not using express mine is Professional)
