You are far too old; find another job immediately.

Solution 1

There's not a certain age when you should stop, but maybe there should a certain age when you shouldn't start Wink | ;-)

Having said that, I do know programmers that have re-trained and started at 28 and they've had long an prosperous careers, so I wouldn't worry, as long as you enjoy what you are doing.

Solution 4

I was a graphic artist until I was 28. I dabbled in programming as a hobby since I was 14 and when the my skills weren't that marketable in the printing industry, I took formal training and have been working as a professional developer since. Age isn't as much a factor as willingness to learn and keep up with technology.

Solution 2

Here is a part of your enjoyment with work. enjoy your work as much as you can. then there is no limitation of age to work as a programmer.

Solution 3

I think you meant coding right? If yes then what about other positions? For example, now you are a programmer. Now you can try to go with other positions(after some year(s)) like Senior developer, Team leader, Project leader, Project manager, etc.,. In higher positions, you don't have to too much coding, only analysis & other kind of things.

Here a classic question I found in Codeproject, check it
Starting programming at age 28[^]

Note : That OP's age(28) was same as yours
