Output grid contents from Classic asp page

Is there a way that I can allow the user to click a button on a classic asp page and download the grid contents to a file? I am currently redirecting them to and export page and having to re connect and download the same contents from SQL all over again.
Is there a way to use the existing record set on a page to output the file?
