I was wondering is there a way to calculate the old LM hashes for windows in .net? I have looked all over and found nothing on Google, however I found Ophcrack generates them and I'm wondering how?

I have to find a way to generate them as a homework assignment, so any help would be nice!

What did you search for? Because I googled[^] and found all kinds of downloads for classes that are supposed to do the LM hash. I also found This link[^] that posts code directly. And a good explaination on wikipedia[^] for how the hash is done. I assume since this is homework you have to do it manually. Hopefully this will help get you started.
