Numerous attempts to instance MSCOMM32.MSCOM within my hypertext application have failed. Will I have to wrapper MSCOMM32 in a user ocx marked as scriptable? Is there a way to access via named pipe or a textstream?

Failed? That does not tell us anything. Are there errors?

ActiveX cannot create object! With both object tags and clsid method and in script with the CreateObject("MSCOMM32.MSCOMM") method.

Before you ask, yes the license manager was defined before the mscomm and the license file for the mscomm control was referenced.

I can create and access the control just fine in VBA and MSDEV.
