handle button click of user control in its parent page....

I have a user control (filter.ascx) on my page (customers.aspx). on my user control(filter.ascx) i am clicking button to filter the data and same data i need to bind to the grid in my page (customers.aspx). How can i do that. do i need to use a call back event that should fire an event in my page when i click button or do i need to handle this all in user control by finding parent grid control. please help...
 
Note:- can we do it by using callback events....
