my goal is to be a professional .net web developer

and with so many different technologies around including

Html, css, javascript, xml, asp.net, c#, ajax, linq and its features,ado.net , oracle database

what's the sequence for learning web programming?

what's come first and what's is not important?

and should I study database in depth

There's nothing like one thing is important and other is not. Each and every thing is important because you are a learner. Each thing gonna give you an experience you have to decide whether it was a good experience or not.

You can start learning from basic languages like C, C++

If you do not have access to a tutor led training course then one of the better places to start would be the ASP.NET homepage[^], which contains tutorials and samples. You can also look in your local bookshop or library for publications on the subject. The w3schools site[^] is another useful resource. It is probably a good idea to get a good understanding of the actual mechanics of web programming first, and worry about database later.

Start with
1) Apress begineer ebooks,
2) Create demo application given in chapter end.
3) Create major project which includes all the features that you learned.
4) Contribute with Codeproject,Microsoft community or in blog.
5) your professional now....!!!!! :):):)
