VB6 has been unsupported for a decade and always sucked. you need to first work out how to do this, THEN see if the method you need to use, can be done in VB6. If you have any interest in programming, and like BASIC syntax, learn VB.NET, it's a real language, with ongoing support.

I'm not completely agree. I insist that VB6 was obsolete even before it was introduced to the market; are you disagree? :-)

*grin* hence my use of the phrase 'always sucked'. I suspect some people are given VB6 and have no idea that VB.NET has free editions. Or teachers teaching what they know.
Sergey Alexandrovich Kryukov at 1-Aug-12 17:52pm

Exactly. Many also think that VB.NET is a kind of VB which is not exactly so...

Yes, it's really a new language, just like C# is. In both cases, it got named to increase uptake.

True.

With teachers... there is a painful problem. I just know how companies sometimes use schools to promote their trash: make "free gifts", to have naive students paying for that trash later...

Any particular reason to use VB6? I'm reluctant to help you, because it could only prolong your suffering... Trash it, finally.
