Since I have a very basic knowledge on this topic, what methods should i use from the following??
1> color detection
2> center of mass/gravity
3> any other

For any image dealing in matlab Im going to refer you to this site:
http://www.mathworks.com/products/image/[^]

You will also most likely get better answer at their forums, witch are specifically targeted to pure Matlab programming :)
