How to browse file (only .xls) using Common Dialog control in visual basic 6 and then save it in a particular folder.

VB6 is a nightmare, you should not be using it. It is obsolete for a decade.

You should seriously consider migrating to VB.Net. However you could still use the OpenFileDialog and SaveFileDialog controls, you only need to set the filter as such.... Excel Files(*.xls)|*.xls I had doubts too when I wanted to migrate but it's pretty easy when you read a few books, Sams teach yourself VB.Net helped a lot. :)
