How to browse file (only .xls) using Common Dialog control in visual basic 6 and then save it in a particular folder.

VB6 is a nightmare, you should not be using it. It is obsolete for a decade.

In addition to being obsolete, your question is not very clear. You would start off your quest by reading the documentation, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms646960(v=vs.85).aspx

You should seriously consider migrating to VB.Net. However you could still use the OpenFileDialog and SaveFileDialog controls, you only need to set the filter as such....
 
Excel Files(*.xls)|*.xls
 
I had doubts too when I wanted to migrate but it's pretty easy when you read a few books, Sams teach yourself VB.Net helped a lot. :)
