Are there any disadvantages of WPF compared to Win Forms programming?

Hi,

I am new to WPF and found WPF programming is really cool and read some books and it seems to me WPF are better than Windows Forms programming from many aspects.

But I am wondering are there any disadvantages of WPF compared to Windows form programming? if no, then we can focus on WPF then.

Any experts can give me some clarifications?

Solution 1

WinForms is simpler in code behind, it is easyer to get a lits of controls in WinForms than WPF, but WPF is much fanzyer and it is much more flexible in design. Although WPF is usually designed in Blend by designersd or programmers.

That is the only reason to choose WinForms over WPF that I could think of from the top of my head....

ı started to learn wpf because wpf is new fast and fashion see Windows 8 is writen with wpf if you learn wpf you learned silverlight 2 ı mean they are 90%100 same so win forms will finish soon but wpf is future if you learn wpf you already designer and the software developer so much advantage you will have good luck work hard
