activate user giving link to his given email address when he registers

hi, its often seen that user when registers doesn't give valid email address.For this reason, i want to activate user by giving a confirmation link to his given email address.I searched many topics about this type of problem.But, i don't know how to implement them coz i m a beginner.And also i want to mention that i m not using asp.net "membership system" because i m very close to complete my project.
Another question is that, where i can download some projects with source code which works good and already on the web?

While sending the mail through asp.net send GUID mentioned in the above link with it. Follow the same procedure. It's not tough. Try it and if any problem comes then let me know.
