First learn about the Qt framework, there are plenty of books about it; a god one is C++ GUI programming with Qt 4 (the first edition is available for free download from the Qt website, http://www.qtrac.eu/C++-GUI-Programming-with-Qt-4-1st-ed.zip[^])
