We do not have Microsoft Exchange Server fitted on Site Manager's Lap Tops and one of them wants to have an "Out of Office" notice for the next couple of weeks.

I sorted this out by creating a template and applying a rule to send that template back to every email received.

Then it struck me.

Am I right in thinking that this will only work if he leaves his laptop on and connected, ie, it is only a client side rule, not a server side rule?

If so, is there an alternative?

I presume you are using a POP3 account, in that case go to the web interface of your email account, and they usually have an "auto-response" feature which you can set and not leave the laptop on.
