what is installing a multiple versions of linux kernel in VMware?
is it
1. Is it that i have to install the whole operating system and update the kernel or
2. It there is a way of installing the kernel file in a VMware by itself?
And how do i install and configure kernel in my ubuntu using a VMware???
i am a beginner 4 this so cld any one help?

The use of VMware makes no difference, you install and configure the kernel the same way as on Ubuntu installed directly in a physical machine. See: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile[^]
