Hello I am using your following code but it gives error for provider, so please can you tell me what is provider?
 
string format = "dd/MM/yyyy";
DateTime dt = DateTime.ParseExact(dateString, format, provider);
 

thanks in advance..pls help me sooon

Solution 2

You probably want to use CultureInfo.InvariantCulture for the provider. This allows the conversion method to work the same way regardless of how the machine is configured. Here is more on this provider:

CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);
 
or
 
DateTime dt = DateTime.ParseExact(dateString, "d",
CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);
