hi i am having a table where columns and rows are dynamically created the problem is i have to merge those columns if there is no data/control in the table cell any help would be appreciated...

Can you elaborate your question, since the columns and rows are dynamically created ...
Let us know
Are you using a html table - Who is creating it & how ( ie who is writing the tr-td tags)
Is the table gets created by some server control like gridview... ( i.e. iterate through the data in databind/prerender/render events)
