Securing EJB Web Services

Usually, while securing Web Services, we are forced to use the web.xml file located in the WEB-INF directory of our web service. However, an EJB is not a web application, and there is no WEB-INF directory to place your web.xml configuration file. How to apply security realms for your EJB-based Web Service?
