This is more of an FYI -- for me. I've seen enough resource code that have a SS_USERITEM style (usually "static" class). How is this to be handled? Via WM_PAINT or does it generate its own WM_ message? I would think it works like BS_OWNERDRAW for the "button" class. The docs seem to stop after telling me what the hex value is and not much else for actually code. Thanks. René

Certainly not much information available from Microsoft on this. I guess you need to use something like Spy++ to see what happens.
