GridView buttons not firing on deployment

Hi,
My .net 3.5 web application has a gridview inside an update panel. On development machine, all works fine. But when I deployed the application to a Windows 2003 R2 server, the edit/delete buttons in the gridview become inactive. No response on mouse hover, click or any other actions. The gridview gets populated on SelectedIndexChange of a dropdownlist control, which works fine.

IIS 6.0 is used for deployment.

Any suggestions?

In IIS, what application pool is the web application using?
Please provide the app pool settings that are being used, in particular the Identity.

It could be a web.config issue as well. Please provide that also.
