I am interested in How could I recognize several separated points in a static image of a face?

The problem is in the field of Automatic Analyisis of Facial Expressions, part Facial Expression Data Extraction.

(You need a modul for your foreign language learning system. Therefore the images will not be general, but frontally oriented face in front of the web camera – this can be used to simplify the face detection phase).

4.4. User interface (as a part of the foreign language learning system)

How could I solve this task?

Thank you very much for your reply.

I apply kindly Sergey Alexandrovich take part in this discussion, my serious question as well as serious research and developmental problem.

My question and my interest is not FACE RECOGNITION, but, FACIAL EXPRESSION RECOGNITION, with ended goal to recognize emotion expressed by observed facial expression.
I am in the field of Human-Computer Interaction: Emotional Interface, subfield Automatic analysis of facial expressions.

I would like to extract several characteristic points from the arbitrary static image of the face. Those characteristic points would be inputs of one still existing algorithm recognizing emotion.

Am I clear? Do you understand my question and my intentions?

I am looking forward for reply both of you.

Where should you try to seek an advice on this topic? I explained, probably not at this Quick Questions & Answers forum. If not here, where else?

How to explain it..? It all looks a bit weird.

Imagine A. Einstein writing to the general physics discussion forum (including people working in thermodynamics, electricity, mechanics, etc., and, as always, most people working more at applications or experimental techniques): "I am working at a new theory of mechanics which, in particular, should reconcile recent negative results on ether discovery, but it will need to radically review the present views on time-space. How could I modify the Galilean transformation in a proper way? My idea is to give up the independence of the masses and sizes of the bodies on the reference frames...".

Now, think about one more thing. Imaging someone (Henri Poincaré, most likely, if any at all), would provide a comprehensive advice to A. Einstein. Who do you think would now be considered as the author of the Special Theory of Relativity now? :-)

This example is a bit of exaggeration, but are you getting the idea?

If I expect same results as Einstein? :-)

Maybe I should go there and ask ...
