In my imagination future mobile phone will become remote for many things...
1. Switch on/off lights of home by sending sms from mobile.
2. Open the door for a Guest in their absence by sending a command or sms.
3. open the door of car and garage by using mobile.
4. Control the illumination of light and speed of FAN using mobile.

Many possibilities are their.

You don't need to go to the future for that.
Search google about "domotic" and "intelligent houses". All what you said is already possible, expensive might be, but possible

I allready have an SMS Gin Delivery service.
I SMS Michelle to say "Go and get me a Gin".
She hits me. I go and get two gins.
