Special character validation throwing Server error .

I have one RegularExpressionValidator as follows

C#

ValidationExpression="([A-Za-z0-9 ]+)"

for one of my Text box when I enter <text> on the text box and click on submit it gives server error as follows

A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (tbID="<test>").</test>
