Scanning Image Using VB

Hi. I'm new to here and new to VB(I just learn VB for 1 semester). Today, I was on a small little project for my parent company where I have to do some VB application that allow user to scan some image then store it in a database. The problem I'm having is, I didn't know how to perform the scan action.

There are lots of question about this but most solution isn't working well. I found some from youtube but it isn't the best. Where is the best resources where newbie can understand.
