ida software,about how to find the encrytion algorithm in the code,using the assemble langudge?

i just have a task for dig out a algorithm in the software,but i only have a *.idb file in the hard disk.So i need a *.exe file which can be traced by the ida software,How can i do to this work ?Can anybody give me help!

Your question makes no sense, the IDB file has no information about the code in the program so it is of no use. If you do not have the source code of the program then there is not much you can do.

I smell something fishy.. Are you trying to crack some licenced software ?

Not this kind of use, i just wanna to find the cryption algorithm,just for learning the assemble language and the encrytion's relationship
