Windows Phone Push Notifications; Must I use Azure?

Hi.
I'm just getting started to do some Push Notifications on Windows Phone 7.1.
MUST I use Azure to host the WCF or can the code run from my own web server?

You can run push notifications from any server. Azure makes some things easier, but it's not a requirement.
